Help us bring our technology platform to the military. Our goal is to empower Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) care teams to deliver 18 months of resources three-to-six months before a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move. Doing this drastically increases military readiness by providing families real-time access to information, resources in the community, and additional support.
Sound Impossible? Every day, we help pediatric-focused healthcare organizations in the civilian world significantly impact the families they serve. Our technology reaches 100% of patient populations, delivering 1400% more community resources directly to families, with an adoption rate of 70%. With your support we can do the same for military families.
Helping for Free! By utilizing the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, CareStarter is delivering this solution with free innovation dollars through government grant funds, reducing pressure on already stretched budgets.
We are seeking anyone associated with the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP). If you are interested in learning more about how to partner with us for a pilot or sign an MOU,
We are seeking active duty and retired champions who would like to see a CareStarter pilot in the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine EFMP program. If you are interested in learning more about writing a letter of support for this pilot,
We want to hear your EFMP/PCS story. We are seeking direct feedback from active duty and retired military families who serve(d) in the Air Force, Army, Namy, and Marines. If you are interested in sharing your experience directly with CareStarter,
CareStarter has a strong track record of impact in pediatric healthcare organizations in the civilian world. Our technology platform empowers small teams of care managers to automate and scale in order to get to 100% of their patient population, delivering 1400% more community resources directly to families, with an adoption rate of 70%.
A SBIR-funded pilot would allow CareStarter to adapt this technology to military experience and needs. For Air Force EFMP, CareStarter's platform would bring seamless integration and communication to EFMP Assignment, Family Service, and Medical staff, often referred to as a “warm hand-off,” while ensuring EFMP-enrolled families receive 18 months of resources three to six months before their PCS.

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a highly-competitive program that encourages domestic, small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization.
CareStarter has applied to the ‘Open’ Topic, led by AFWERX; companies with existing commercial products or services that may also be useful to the Air Force are invited to apply. Several barriers to working with the Air Force have been removed or mitigated for this program, to include a shorter application process, an accelerated contract award, and a shorter period of performance.
CareStarter helps Children’s Hospitals, pediatric-focused health plans, specialty clinics, and federally qualified health centers automate and scale their small care management teams that are getting to less than 1% of patient interactions to reach 100% of their patient population with a 70% adoption rate.
